Regarding confessions: I am a woman and I would have advised you to keep it quiet. I don’t see the point in telling the wife anything. I think it was more to relieve your own guilt and you were not doing the wife any favors by telling her. For all you know, she already knew. Perhaps she chose to ignore it. You are pretty much imposing your values, or relieve your guilt. Either way, it was pretty convenient that you suddenly.developed a conscience once you decided you were done with him. You didn’t feel bad enough to skip that trip with his family either.
